Noteworthy European Destination in Photos: Budapest, Hungary

budapest hungary architecture 5

Budapest is not at the top of the list when people think of European destinations, but it has so much to offer: castles, caves, Danube river, opera, shopping, food… Really everything you would want in a travel destination.  Plus you’ll find that Budapest is a bargain compared to other European cities, because although Hungary is part of the European Union, it does not use the Euro as its…

Monuments Around The World

You know, they are kind of everywhere: buildings, statues and structures that commemorate people or events. Here are a few I have recollected in the past:

The Tulip Farm in Woodburn, Oregon

tulip farm oregon windmill

Last weekend we spontaneously decided to drive south to the tulip farm in Woodburn, OR about 45 minutes from Portland. Tulips are one of my favorite flowers, if not my favorite, and I had never been to a tulip farm before. I always dreamed to go visit one in Holland; so when I found out recently that there was one just 40min from here I got so excited. And it did not disappoint.

I promise you, these photos were not taken in Holland.

Travel Theme: Statues

Budapest, Hungary

Budapest, Hungary

We’re all just bags of bones and muscle and hormones; I’ll never understand what makes our minds do the things we do. It’s like that statue of the monkey holding a skull. We’re trying to use a thing we don’t understand to understand ourselves.

Street Life In India

India is one of the most spiritual countries in the world, and though peace can be found internally or at specific places, its streets are always lively and bustling and moving and colorful, even in rural areas. In fact, a lot of Indians spend most of their time in the street instead of at home, whether it is working, farming, selling, driving, playing (cricket), doing laundry by hand, herding buffalo or cows, transporting goods, or even just having a cup of chai out in the “porch”.

You can see for yourself:

Multnomah Falls, The Tallest In Oregon

We have been in Portland for 5 months now and last Sunday, we finally made it to Multnomah Falls.

Multnomah Falls is a waterfall on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge, located east of Troutdale, between Corbett and Dodson, along the Historic Columbia River Highway. The falls drops in two major steps, split into an upper falls of 542 feet (165 m) and a lower falls of 69 feet (21 m), with…
